The New Year's Eve dinner menu at Baa Ga Din stars grilled beef short rib with tamarind, shallots and tomato as well as the chef’s take on pu pad pong garee (stir-fried crab in yellow curry) with blue crab meat torchon. Five courses at B1,790 per person.

Blue Elephant

The Thai restaurant hosts a five-course gala dinner of contemporary, Thai-inspired dishes highlighting ingredients from the Royal Projects for B4,532 net. Chef Nooror Somany Steppe's version of somtam comes served with Thai-raised Bresse chicken, while her smoked duck with grilled French foie gras is topped with a puree of Royal Projects strawberries. In additon to the dinner, there will also be a lucky prize draw.

Bunker

Sathorn’s new-American restaurant presents a four-course menu for Christmas at B2,700. Chef Arnie Marcella lets you pick between a couple of dishes for each course. Either go for madai (red sea bream) crudo with mangosteen and red chili or wagyu carpaccio with truffle dashi and smoked dashi to start. Mains feature options of Japanese black cod with celeriac, black truffle and maitake mushroom, and Australian lamb with redcurrant and Swiss Chard. You can also opt for wine pairing at B1,300.

Cafe Milano

This festive seasons, Cafe Milano offers a menu that runs through Jan 15, including wild boar stew with chestnut and tagliatelle (B650), beef carpaccio with black truffles (B790) and roast turbot with potatoes (B1,890).

Cafe Parisien

Through Jan 15, 2017, Cafe Parisien rolls out a special menu for the festive season, with the like of celeriac cream soup (B690), dover sole fillet Normande with king prawn, champignon, mushroom cream sauce and mussel (B1,250) and beef Wellington (for two, B2,950).

Cocotte 

At B4,490, Cocotte has prepared for you a seven-course surf-and-turf menu. Chestnut liquor and Chandon Brut sparkling wine make a bubbly aperitif before the meal starts. Chef Jeriko Van Der Wolf showcases his comforting cuisine in dishes like marinated scallop carpaccio in yuzu juice, pan-seared foie gras and duck confit in ravioli, slow-cooked wild turbot fish with caviar and Champagne sauce, black truffle-stuffed chicken breast and Mont Blanc (chestnut cream dessert) made with pastry cream, lime jelly and crispy meringue.

Thonglor's burger and steak specialist rolls out a Christmas Day dinner (Dec 25) featuring salad, Berkshire smoked ham, 1.2kg chargrilled 250-day Angus tomahawk steak and poached pear dessert. B3,000/set for 2 people with an additional B300 per person (max 4). Reservations required.

Freebird

Chef Dallas Cuddy presents a set lunch menu over the Christmas weekend (Dec 24-25). For B1,500 per person, you’ll get small plates of starters follwed by mains, side dishes and desserts to share. Promised items include beer and miso-grilled lamb ribs with radish salad, baked ham with pineapple, palm sugar and star anise, roast black Angus beef with garlic pepper crust, roasted and whipped potato with coffee and bacon salt and chocolate rum and raisin pudding with custard. The bar will also create special cocktails derived from festive drinks like mulled wine and eggnog.

Il Fumo

The restaurant is specially open for lunch on Dec 24-25 and Dec 31. Tasting menus from ingredients like Brittany blue lobster dry-aged Chianina bull and Oscietra caviar will be on offer. On Dec 24-25, they serve a four-course lunch or dinner (B2,800) and a six-courses dinner (B3,500). While on New Year’s Eve, a four-course lunch or dinner costs B3,500 and a six-course dinner B4,200.

J’aime

Head chef Amerigo Sesti presents a seven-course Christmas Eve dinner menu (B2,999), comprising plancha-seared rock lobster, turbot and clam ragout and slow-cooked pigeon breast. On New Year’s Eve, the seven-course dinner (B4,999 with a glass of Champagne) features foie gras ganache in a black winter truffle dress, breaded Frog leg jambonnette and chanterelle mushroom-crusted turbot.

Available from Dec 24-31, the Christmas and New Year six-course menu at Le Du took inspiration from chef Thitid Tassanakajohn’s year-round trips. At B2,890, the chef lets you join his journey to Japan’s Iya Valley with his hand-picked yuzu with local sustainable ocean fish and other Thailand’s destination like Phang-nga with his oyster and sato and Phuket with his take on local clam curry.

Seven Spoons

On top of some special dishes running on the a la carte menu for Christmas and New Year, chef Somkiat Pairojmahakij also rolls out a set menu for Christmas. At B1,200 per person, you’ll enjoy a four-course meal with a cocktail. The menu also has vegetarian-friendly options, with two choices for each course. Expect the likes of razor clams with chorizo, capers and white wine butter sauce and black mountain chicken with Udomsuk stout gravy. Or opt for broccoli quinoa salad, brown butter sweet potato gnocchi and grilled tofu with chimichurri sauce if you’re a vegetarian.

The Dock

Who says Christmas has to be all about roast turkey? Go for an ultimate Symphony of Seafood at The Dock. Things start off with seafood overture (fresh sea urchin and its butter) with a glass of French sparkling Chamdeville, Blanc de Blancs wine and go on to the fresh scallop carpaccio and fresh Beluga caviar. Lobster stars in the form of ravioli with spiced bisque emulsion, while the restaurant captures the family vibe with coulibiac, a type of Russian pie with a monkfish filling and Madagascan vanilla sauce. From Dec 22-30, Vesper celebrate Christmas with Francesco Deiana’s Sardinian dishes and festive cocktails from Milk Pailin. On Dec 31, they’re on the annual ‘Beastly Feast’ with Brittany lobster, baby lamb and Hokkaido scallops, and a deal for cocktails from 10:30pm with a post-countdown lucky draw.
