Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry

Ai Weiwei, China’s most famous international artist and most outspoken domestic critic, has two solo shows going on this month, plus an exclusive film screening at River City Bangkok. “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry” comes from first-time director Alison Klayman, who gained unprecedented access to Ai while working as a journalist in China. Puente 

“Puente,” Chilean contemporary artist Krina Retuert’s first exhibition in Bangkok, explores landscapes, as well as their atmospheres and sensations, across a series of paintings and mixed media artworks.

Love & Lust in the Time of Corona 

Five Thailand-based expats touch on loneliness, separation, depression, downtime, and their readjusted working lives during the coronavirus pandemic in styles that range from pop art to nudes and fantasy, in both oil and acrylic paint on canvas. The exhibition kicks off Friday, Nov 6, at 6pm at the Candle Light Studio, a private gallery located above BarBar Club in Patpong Soi 2. The closing event will be held at the Patpong Museum at 7pm on Friday, Nov 13.

A Trail at the End of the World

Bangkok-based artist Dusadee Huntrakul, with the help of The Jim Thompson House Museum and Bangkok CityCity Gallery, have teamed up to display ceramic works in the house museum collection. Each piece explores how we can live with the new normal in a post-pandemic world.

Undressed to Dress Up

This latest exhibition by Thai artist Ping Hatta looks to redefine the concept of “fashion illustration,” which it is dominated by long-legged, often white figures holding model poses or strutting down runways.

The City & The City: Divided Senses

This collaborative exhibition between results from the exchanges and creative encounters between Bangkok- and Tokyo-based artists, translated and presented by three local artists at The Jam Factory, starting Nov 5.

Goldie

Goldie at The Emperor’s Secret

Street artist turned icon of the drum ‘n’ bass scene turned Bangkok gallery owner Goldie is on the decks again this Nov 7 at The Emperor’s Secret. Each of the past 15 years, the UK legend has played a set in Bangkok. This year, he’s doing something different, as he’ll be playing tracks from his Subjective side project, a techno collab with DJ duo Ulterior Motive, over a three-hour set.
