Quince

The chef may have changed, but Quince’s kitchen still retains its focus on sustainability, ethical eating and local produce. Sit amid the charming country-classic-themed space, Quince’s Chef Blair Mathieson will be cooking a special Valentine’s set menu that comes early (Feb 13) with dishes like slow-roasted duck salad with grapes, harissa and pomegranate and lamb rump with smoked eggplant and soft feta.

Issaya Siamese Club

Star Chef Ian Kittichai has taken an old Thai villa, given it a fresh lick of paint and some touches of color. Come to think of it, that describes his menu, too: Thai comfort food with a modern presentation and just enough creative twists to keep us excited. Even if it’s a romantic night, you’ll have to pass on the ultra-tight dress because the desserts are the best part and you can’t pass on those. We’re pretty sure you can think of way to work off those calories.

Indus

Indus’s alfresco area can certainly help enliven any romance with its fountain, manicured lawns and four-poster daybeds that conjure up images of Mughal courts. The food, like the décor, is a pleasantly light take on northern Indian favorites like biryani and tandoori chicken, as well as some rarer regional highlights. The prominent bar at Indus also serves up a mean cocktail.

Maki Maki

Squeezed into the third floor of the very small community mall No. 88, Maki Maki has such a big buzz on yummy fusion rolls with artistic presentation since its opening. But that’s not about it, the place has a casual, loft-like atmosphere with a small mezzanine area (you should inquire when booking), where you can dine under a lovely pitched glass roof with a chandelier and some ferns for company.

Gaggan

A delight for the palate as well as the eyes, Gaggan is far from the usual Mughal-themed, red-everything Indian restaurant. Set in a distressed white house, it has lots of cozy little nooks and a blow-your-mind modern gastronomy menu like you’ve never seen before. Try and get a table upstairs, or in their cool, Greek island-style terrace. Hurry, though, as they’re almost fully booked.

Sat in Niu’s Concerto’s old space, 661 Silom is the new baby of the team behind Le Beaulieu. Upstairs is the steakhouse vibe while the 1/F is more bar vibe. Opt for the special V-Day menu with dishes including the pan fried foie gras with mango and almond and slow-cooked short rib with beetroot before you go on to the Champagne at the Dom Perignon lounge.
