This spot was recently joined by Francesco Moretti who started his training at Michelin-starred chef Jean-Claude Brugel's Sea Lounge in Monaco when he was 18 and has been mixing drinks all over Europe, America, and Asia ever since. You also may have found him in Bangkok at the late Vogue Lounge or Sinnerman. The future for this standalone colonial house-bar next to W Hotel is looking bright.

Originally an indie documentary distributor bringing in alternative screenings for the cinephiles of Bangkok before taking over the space of Bangkok Screening Room, founder Thida Plitpolkarnpim has turned the space into a pub, a lively hang-out spot, that hosts regular talks, workshops, and events.

From the masterminds behind Eats Payao, this bar, according to their Facebook, is “dedicated to immigrant cultures in Asia.” However, if you head there late—and we’re talking very late—at night, you’ll find one of the funnest nights in Bangkok. A lot of F&B industry people hang out here after their shift, and these guys know how to drink. Just like democracy in Thailand, the “midnight closing” time is there, but doesn’t really exist.

 

 

This bar brings your typical Koh Samet trip with your gay friends to the middle of Silom. Located at the front of all the Patpong craziness, you can pre-game here before the night gets late—with all the wild world just a stone’s throw away. They also host regular drag shows.

Our favorite has to be Negroni night on Tuesday with their all-night buy-one-get-one-free. Wednesday is ladies’ night serving unlimited—you read that right—drinks for all ladies 8-11pm, and if you show up in a group of four, you also get a bottle of wine.

Legendary for its heart-stopping 61-story views of the scattered city lights, Moon Bar was one of the first rooftop places in town and it’s still hard to beat the vertiginous 360-degree views offered up by this small al fresco bar atop the Banyan Tree Hotel.
