After making his acting debut in Ong Bak (2003), Tony Ja, aka Phanom “Ja” Yeerum, became an icon of Thai martial arts, a reputation he maintained in The Bodyguard (2005) and Tom Yum Kung (2005). It was also recently announced that he’ll be joining Hollywood’s long-running racing franchise Fast & Furious 7 next year. Back in Thailand, though, Tony is finally set to deliver the second installment of Tom Yum Kung, which pits him against female martial artists Yanin “Jeeja” Vismitananda and Parkour runner Theerada Kittisiriprasert in what’s gearing up to be an intense sequel. Tom Yum Kung 2 is set to open in Bangkok cinemas on Oct 23 in 3D.
