Bangkok's Japanese Film Festival to Screen Classic and Contemporary Anime Movies This Month
The Japanese Film Festival returns this month to the joy of of anime lovers.
Under the theme From Classic to Contemporary: A Lively Animation Collection, the festival selects 10 pictures including Studio Gibli’s The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Franz Kafka’s A Country Doctor by Kōji Yamamura to be screened over four days from Feb 20-23 at Lido (Siam Square, 02-251-1727). The Garden of Words (Thai Subtitles, Feb 20, 6pm)
An anime by Makoto Shinkai about aspiring shoemaker Takao who keeps bumping into a mysterious woman whenever it rains.
A Letter to Momo (Thai Subtitles, Feb 22, 5:30pm)
Hiroyuki Okiura's anime narrates 11-year-old girl Momo's struggle to cope with the sudden change after her father passed away.
