May 2. Les amants du Pont-Neuf (1991): A tragic love story about two vagrants living under a bridge in Paris: Alex is a street performer and his lover Michele is going blind. When Michele’s family tries to take her in for treatment, Alex won’t let her go, fearing she’ll never come back.
May 9. La naissance de I’Amour (1993): A parallel situation between two unsatisfying relationships. Paul is happy with his two kids but not so much with his wife, while Marcus wants to win back his wife’s love by having children with her.
May 16. Trois couleurs: Bleu (1993): Three Colors is the trilogy written by Kieslowski on France’s national motto: Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. The first part, Blue, follows Julie, who decides to live in isolation after losing her husband and daughter in a car accident.
May 23. L’enfer (1994): A hotel manager has just married and has one child. His family life seems to be perfect until his drinking causes him to become brutal and jealous.
May 30. Le Premier Venu (2008): Camille, a 20-year-old girl from a middle class family decides to refresh her boring life by persuading herself to love anyone who comes her way.
