World Gourmet Festival 2025: Who to see and where to be
Last week, the 25th World Gourmet Festival announced their full lineup for the upcoming festivities, and, to put it mildly, there are some big names on the list.
With 16 Michelin-star restaurants and around 20 events, foodies will find these events at seven venues around the city from Guilty to Biscotti. Held by Anantara Siam Bangkok, the events will be held between September 22-28 with local and international chefs. With so many every night, it’s a little difficult to keep track, so we’ve got a little guide.
Where: Grand Ballroom at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel
How much: B6,500
What: This is the big shindig to kick off the event, and it will feature Eric Vildgaard,Choi Ming Fai Jan, Dave Pynt, Paul Gamauff, Jimmy Ophorst, Arttasit Pattanasatienkul, Nattaphon Othanawathaki. All names Bangkok foodies will know, the event kicks off at 6pm and will feature dishes from these seven chefs.

What: You know Chef Jimmy Ophorst as the mind behind Pru, the restaurant in Phuket that put that island’s fine dining on the map as much for its sustainable practices as its food. Their servings will start at 7pm on this Tuesday evening, and he’ll be joined by Chef Choi Ming Fai Jan of Hong Kong’s Mora.

What: Joined by Chef Vaughan Mabee of Amisfield Restaurant and vineyard out of New Zealand, Eric Vildgaard, the man behind the celebrated Jordnaer in Copenhagen will serve guests starting at 7pm, so expect plenty of Nordic cuisine from this three-star Michelin self-taught master.

What: Coming to us out of Spain, you can expect Mexican Haute Cuisine from Chef Paco Méndez coming to us from Come in Barcelona. He boasts a Michelin star, and a shelf full of awards.

What: Coming to us from Sassari in Italy, Chef Francesco Stara is the mind behind Fradis Minoris boasting a Michelin and Green star. On the night at 7pm, you can expect Mediterranean and Sardinian cuisine.

What: Following on from Monday’s collab with Chef Jimmy, Choi Ming Fai from Mora also boasts a Michelin and Green star, and for this event you can expect modern French-Chinese fusion.

What: Prin Polsuk is one of Bangkok’s most beloved chefs both for his style and the wild ingredients he brings to his cuisine. For this event, he’s pairing with Dave Pynt, coming to us from Singapore’s Burnt Ends. Expect a smokey, soulful evening uniting their cuisines.

What: Chef Paco returns to the World Gourmet Festival, this time for a mashup with Bangkok’s own Chef DK, the mind behind one of Bangkok’s favorite fine dining Indian restaurants, Haoma—another spot famous for its sustainability.

What: Grégoire Berger, originally from France, made his name known with Ossiano in the UAE, earning a Michelin star and Best Presentation at The Best Chef Awards. For this event you can expect the chef to bring his signature French fare with global touches.

What: Dave Pynt, who was collaborating with Chef Prin the previous day, will be having his own event, but at the time of writing, this one is already sold out, so good luck.

What: The brothers Mathias and Thomas Sühring from the eponymous restaurant that was in the Bangkok vanguard of fine dining will be collaborating with Chef Eric for the evening, so go expecting cuisine from parts of Europe you’ll want to explore more.

What: Bringing us Chilean food from Singapore, Francisco Araya will be at the World Gourmet Festival representing his own Araya. Fittingly held at Guilty, you can expect this chef to be serving up Nikkei cuisine—a little bit of the South Pacific, a little bit of Japan in method.

What: This is a special one for the World Gourmet Festival, both in the fact that it will run for three days and because it’s the one a lot of people can afford. Janice Wong is coming to Bangkok from 2am:dessertbar will be serving the late afternoon set at 2pm, and you can expect a lot of pastries and chocolate.

What: New Zealand’s Vaughan Mabee returns from his stint with Eric Vildgaard to work with one of Thailand’s favorite chefs, Chef Ton—and if you don’t know this chef, then you’re hopelessly lost on the Thai foodie scene. Together, they’ll make modern Thai cuisine with royal influences.

What: The chef fromgTokyo’s MAZ, Santiago Fernandez, will be collaborating with our very own Chef Chudaree "Tam" Debhakam, a big winner at both Top Tables and Michelin, and, honestly, one of our very favorite spots in Bangkok at Baan Tepa.

What: One of the only Vietnamese-centric options on this extensive list of foodie events, this one comes to us from Peter Cuong Franklin, the “refugee turned banker turned chef.” He runs Saigon’s Anan, and is available for one night only.

What: Working previously in the week with Eric Vildgaard and Chef Ton, this experience at Madison Steak Avenue is for the man himself. His award-winning Amisfield Restaurant birthed the Amisfield vineyard, and this year the chef cracked The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025.

What: There might be no other chef in Bangkok that has had such a meteoric rise as Chef Pam—from her original shop, to Opium, to Netflix. Now, she’s collaborating with Grégoire Berger from France, the operator at Ossiano in the UAE, for one night only.

What: Away from his collab with Chef Tam earlier in the week, the chef from Tokyo’s MAZ—think Peruvian biodiversity with Japanese terroir—is on his own at this one-night event. Guilty is a great spot to get into some Latin American creativity.

What: A final hurrah for the big festival, this brunch event, which kicks off at noon, will feature the big names from the week including Vaughan Mabee, Santiago Fernandez, Gregoire Gregoire Berger, Michael Dyllong, Sirorath Thaowtho, Sujira Pongmorn Peter Cuong Franklin.
