Water Library Chamchuri 10th Anniversary

A pioneer on the Bangkok fine-dining scene, Water Library Chamchuri is gearing up for its 10th anniversary this Jun 13-16 by offering special four-course lunch (B2,200) and six-course dinner (B3,900) menus prepared by Haikal Johari, excecutive chef of Water Library Group and Singapore's Alma by Juan Amador, and rising Water Library chef de cuisine Phuvedej Techajiratthakarn. Expect expertly-executed contemporary European dishes that draw on local, seasonal flavors, like ras el hanout duck fillet with foie gras and citrus gastrique; and akamadai or red hosehead fish with firefly squid, beurre blanc and XO sauce. Wine pairing starts at B1,000 or B3,000 for the premium package.

Chef Lorain is at it Again!

From Jun 13-16, acclaimed chef Jean-Michel Lorain returns to the kitchen of his Bangkok outlet, J'aime by Jean-Michel Lorain. For the occasion, Lorain will create a special traditional French five- and seven-course menu, paired with French wine pairing selected by Domaine Jean Féry & Fils winery from Burgundy, France. Bangkok Bar Show

Taking place for the first time this Jun 28-30, the event will comprise a massive fair at the riverside Lhong 1919 complex, as well as a slew of satellite events, guest shifts and parties at some of Bangkok's most buzzing cocktail bars. Across two days (Jun 29-30), show-goers will be able to check out booths from hundreds of alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) brands, from international big names like Absolut, Duvel, Four Pillars and Hendrick's to locals Issan Rum, Chalong Bay and Phraya. Opening night on Jun 28 sees an event at #FindThePhotoBooth presided over by David Ong (curator of Asia's 50 Best Bars) and Boo Jing Heng of Tess Bar (Singapore Bartender of the Year 2017). Pre-tickets are B200 per day (available here) or it's B300 when you purchase at the entrance. Both include one complimentary drink at any of the participating booths.

Rodolphe Landemaine's pop-up

If you love baked goods, then don't miss French pastry chef Rodolphe Landemaine's pop-up at Playground Bakery. Until the end of August, you'll find a mouthwatering array of French breads and viennoiserie, from the photogenic striped croissants in beetroot, cacao or lemon meringue flavor (B100), to puffy brioche in orange, chocolate and even vegan options (B80). The French patissier is the chef behind Maison Landemaine, an artisan boulangerie-pâtisserie with 15 shops in France and two in Tokyo. Chef Rodolphe has also created a special menu for 25 Degrees burger bar, featuring beetroot, chocolate, vegan and low-carb brioche buns, as well as epic baguettes like American steak (B390) topped with French fries, spicy mustard and sweet pickled onions, and open sandwiches like the fresh and light tomato feta tartine on sourdough (B330).
