Chinese mobile brand Xiaomi's entry into the smartphone market with the Redmi certainly got everybody talking last week—cheap-as-dirt, but specs didn't match up with the big boys like the Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 and so on (we can't have it all, can we?). Shortcomings aside, the phone sold out within minutes of its launch. If you've wanted to get your hands on one but didn't manage to beat the crowd, there's more in Xiaomi's arsenal—the (smarter) Mi3—also ridiculously priced under $500.

The latest premium model artphone (pronounced me-three) is set to launch on their website this Friday on March 7. Sitting on the same ranks of other established models, it carries a 2.3GHz processor, a 13 megapixel camera and a full-HD display, among other things. Price-wise, it costs just $419 (inclusive of GST and without line contract). This one reportedly took just 86 seconds for 100,000 units to be completely sold out in China last year. Let’s see how fast it'll be snapped up this Friday.
