Carbar

No diets here, Carbar is all about comforting carbs. Pizzas here are made with three-day fermented dough and topped with liberal amounts of fresh ingredients. A good-to-go is the Carbonara (B320) topped with bacon, Parmesan, mozzarella, and egg, to the hand-cut pappardelle with braised duck ragu, parmesan cream and duck skin crumble (B380). Don’t forget to save space for zeppole (sugared donuts served with salted caramel and chocolate dipping sauces.

If pasta is more your thing, the signature Fettuccine Cantina (B390) comes loaded with shitake and porcini mushrooms, shallots, cream, black truffle paste and truffle oil.

Di Farina

Venture into Sathorn soi 12 and you’ll be greeted by this wood-fired pizza specialist with affable service and crisp, thin-crust pizzas made of 72-hour fermented organic dough. These crisp-bottomed pies provide a nice crunch with every bite and feature toppings that come almost to the edge. Try the Nduja (B380)  for perfect little circles of mozzarella and spicy sausage that’s so tangy as to overshadow the tomato sauce in a good way.

Il Bolognese

With beautiful settings from floor-to ceiling windows, red brick counter, and wood fire oven sets right up front, this pizzeria offers comforting Italian food with highlight on pizza—wonderfully crisp yet at the same time moist, burnt in all the right places, and with a pillowy crust. We like the margarita (B390) whose rich with good tomato base, cut with chunky splashes of cheesy mozzarella. Pasta is also good, with carbonara (B290) comes in a generous, unctuous lump scattered in so many shards of deep-fried pancetta you can barely make out the pasta beneath.

Pizza Massilia

Italian chef Luca Appino (La Bottega di Luca) takes an Italy-meets-France approach to pizzas. Step inside the venue with fireplaces, baby blue walls, and parquet floor to enjoy wood fired pizzas with creative toppings such as pizza topped with sea urchin doused in salty-sweet yellow tomato sauce (B690). Besides, the delicate dough—made using only natural yeast—come through most strongly in varieties like the Buffalina (Salerno buffalo mozzarella, basil, and extra virgin olive oil, B490).
