Sarnies has successfully colonized Bangkok’s coffee and brunch scene, found from the Chaophraya to Phrom Phong. In mid-February, Sarnies opened yet another spot with Sarnies Cantina.
Found on Sukhumvit Soi 22 and open very early, Sarnies Cantina is the first of the Sarnies brand on the “other” side of Sukhumvit, found at the intersection of Soi 22 and Soi Phlaphongpanich; this also marks their first foray into Latin flavors.
The renovated shophouse is mixing Mexican flavors with breakfast faves, like their Mexican Eggs Benedict (B280) adding a house mole hollandaise to the poached eggs and English muffin with chimichurri. The Bandeja Paisa (B480) is Colombian in origin, frying chicharrones, guacamole, chorizo, plantains, and arepas. And, of course, you have the “Pimp My Breakfast” option to mix and match your own.
On the brunch menu, in addition to classics like avocado toast, you’ll also find a breakfast burrito with choice of queso, pork carnitas, smoked salmon, and beef cheek barbacoa. Even though Sarnies has quite a rep for its breakfast fare, they’re no slouches on dinner. The Sarnies Cantina location will feature empanadas with beef ragù and portobello tostadas.
On the drinks front (this is Sarnies after all), you’ll find a Latin Leche de Cacao which is a cacao milk tea with coffee jelly and dulce de leche. The Thai Tea Horchata, as you might have guessed, mixes Thai tea with cinnamon and vanilla.
Along with a list of single origin beans for coffee, Sarnies Cantina boasts a mix of dairy-free smoothies made with rice milk (batidos) and a selection of tea, homemade fizz, and kombucha.
Sarnies seems to be everywhere these days, opening their Sarnies & Friends retail and dining concept three months ago, and earlier in 2024 they made big waves in nightlife with Funkytown.
