Bangkok street food queen Jay Fai is about to star in a new Netflix series.

The mastermind behind the enduringly popular Chef’s Table, David Gelb, has shared via Twitter that a spin-off called Street Food will air on the streaming service from Apr 26.

As reported by Eater, Netflix has yet to release exactly who will appear in the new series, but the first photo used to promote Street Food is of none other than Thailand's own Jay Fai.

Since being awarded a Michelin star in 2017, the septuagenarian superstar chef has been thrust well and truly into the international limelight, creating menus for first-class Thai Airways passengers and traveling all the way to Copenhagen to cook her signature crab omelet at MAD, Noma chef Rene Redzepi culinary symposium.

A quick glimpse at her Instagram account also reveals a restaurant flooded with Michelin-trained chefs as well as foodie tourists who’ve traveled across the world to watch her cook.

While Chef’s Table is known to follow the lives of the world's top fine-dining chefs, including Bangkok luminaries Gaggan and Bo.lan, Netflix says, "Street Food takes viewers to some of the world's most vibrant cities to explore the rich culture of street food all over the globe."

The nine episodes of the first series will focus solely on street food across nine countries in Asia, "from the hawker stalls of Singapore to the food carts of India."
