Something to slurp about.

Thanks to its best-selling status at their San Francisco branch, Mensho Tokyo's vegan ramen has been much anticipated since they opened in Bangkok last November

This week, they finally added the dish to the menu—and it proved well worth the wait. Made with Japanese soy cream, coconut milk and a wealth of nuts, beans and local Thai vegetables, the Vegan Tantanmen (B350) is without a doubt the most flavorful vegan ramen we’ve ever tried (let's face it, Bangkok is not spoiled for choice).

The broth is equal parts creamy, salty and richly nutty, the house-made noodles are thick and springy and the mix of dried seaweed, crunchy edamame, and soft mushroom makes for an epic texture combination that's enough to make you choose it over its meaty counterparts.

Also new to the menu, the Chilled Corn Ramen (B330) with optional chicken chashu, served refreshingly cold—ideal for the hotter days that are fast incoming.

Those who simply can't live without meat may be more interested in their new A5 Wagyu Shoyu Ramen (B1,200) which comes topped with a hefty slab of marbled Japanese kuroge wagyu, yuzu zest and a raw egg yolk—vegans, look away.

G/F, RSU Tower, Sukhumvit Soi 31. Open Tue-Sun 11am-3pm, 5-10pm
