The French fine-dining restaurant's new man has worked for two of the biggest players on the London dining scene.

La Vie, the French fine-dining spot at Vie Hotel, has a new man on board, and he comes with some serious credentials.

Nicolas Basset has worked for two of the biggest players on the London dining scene: Albert Roux, who won Britain its first three Michelin-star back in 1982, and Marcus Wareing, former partner of Gordon Ramsay and current holder of two Michelin stars for his restaurant Marcus.

Chef Basset has revamped both lunch and dinner set menus, as well as the a la carte. Classics like La Vie salad with warm confit duck leg (B550) and rib-eye steak (150-day grain fed) with truffled pommes purée and beef jus (B1,200) play a big part. Lunch sets cost B799.
