After raucous shows by Cloud Nothings and !!!, the ever-reliable Popscene are taking things down just a notch this weekend with Canadian electro duo Blue Hawaii. The band hail from the same tight-knit Montreal scene as Grimes, but their looped, slightly glitchy sound is more restrained and dreamy—just how Bangkok kids like it. Touring on the back of last-year’s well-received album Untogether, the band are supported by electro act Wasabi Bytes.

Dutch experimental trio Albatre from Rotterdam Holland, known for their mixture of bass sound, sax noise and frantic drumming perform alongside sleek and melodic Bangkok jazz outfit Killjoy at Phra Nakhon's arty sound space Zoo.

LA producers Daniel Pineda and Asma Maroof, aka Nguzunguzu, have built a fervent online following over the last few years with mixtapes blending chart r’n’b with more underground-leaning instrumentals. They’ve toured with M.I.A. (and even mixed her Vicki Leekx EP of last year) plus put out their own releases on two of the coolest labels in the EDM game, Fade to Mind and Night Slugs. Now the duo are bringing their blend of urban pop and UK bass to Ocean’s basement, Ocean Below, which previously hosted NY-via-Shanghai rapper Gita. Supported by rising UK artist Petite Noir (Domino Records) on the decks.
