Check out this week’s best food and booze events in Bangkok (Nov 28)
Fine dining, collabs and booze. Lots of booze.
Do you feel that breeze? It’s beer garden season, folks. For the first time, Centara Grand is hosting an open-air beer fest up in its 26th-floor lotus garden instead of on street level in front of Central World. Until Jan 26, expect big international beer brands to flow from the tap, like Hoegaarden, Franziskaner, Stella Artois and more.
F/26, Lotus Garden, Centara Grand at CentralWorld. Free entrance
Until Jan 6, craft beer bar-slash-distributor Wishbeer transforms Gaysorn Village into a wintry, craft-focused beer garden. Visit before Nov 30, and you can get a free welcome drink, too—anything that’s available in the garden.
Cocoon Dropoff, Gaysorn Village, 999 Phloenchit Rd.
Every Mon-Thu at Sensi, chef Stefano Merlo is creating custom menus for one table a night. The aptly titled a tavola (“to the table”) deal sees the chef using the day’s freshest produce to create three-course meals according to your tastes. It’s only B4,000++ for the whole table, too.

The Grand Gelinaz Shuffle is back on Dec 3, but this time chefs are staying home. This year, they’re getting recipes from other top chefs, including Noma’s Rene Redzepi, but without knowing which restaurant they originated from. The chefs must then undo the recipes, remix them and create eight completely new dishes.
Happening at Gaa, Bo.lan, Eat me and Le Du. B6,000/person
This Dec 4-5, Indian and Japanese cuisines unite like never before in Bangkok, as executive chef Vaibhav Soni from Charcoal and Jua’s Chet Adkins prepare a nine-course, skewer-based dinner that marries the flavors and ingredients of both cuisines.

Perennial favorite Mexican restaurant La Monita is taking over the kitchen at American-operated Aderholt Annex (a.k.a. JUSMAG) this Dec 20. Expect all the hits from La Monita—tacos, burritos, enchiladas and more—with the unique and definitively American ambience of the secretive bar.
