There's a hidden techno club in Boat Quay you've probably never heard of
It’s time to ditch the shiny dance floor for this gritty underground club in a shophouse.
Known for their pop-up underground parties featuring local faves like Haan from CBD raving ground, Kyō to Berlin’s Kaiser Souzai, The Council has recently moved their parties to their new home base, Headquarters by The Council.
The new HQ will be host to their usual Council series from Wednesday to Saturdays, with Resident DJ Julien Brochard spinning electronic beats alongside other local DJs. The duo behind The Council, local darling Eileen Chan aka DJ Cats on Crack and Clement Chin, the owner of KOI Izakaya, will be playing behind-the-scenes roles at these parties, with Eileen also helming the decks from time to time. Regional and international DJs will make monthly appearances, and we're told the venue is soon to launch a series called Secret Sundays.
The no-frills club is located on the second floor of a shophouse in Boat Quay and you should expect it to get dark and sweaty with gyrating bodies and heart-thumping disco and techno beats—like any proper underground club.
