The inaugural Asia's 50 Best Bars list was announced tonight. Six Bangkok bars made the cut.

The awards are a spin-off of Drinks International's annual World's 50 Best Bars list which launched back in 2011.

The Bangkok bars included on this year's list are cocktail institution Hyde & Seek at #50, Chinoiserie undergound hide-out Maggie Choo’s at #41, reborn jazz establishment Bamboo Bar at #34, hip gin bar Teens of Thailand at #27, new speakeasy Q&A at #26, and serious drinking haunt Vesper at #17.

The coveted no. 1 slot went to 28 Hongkong Street from Singapore. See the full list here. 

Back in February, rumors started to circulate about the makeup of the list when World’s 50 Best Bars editor Hamish Smith started posting on social media to alert bars across Asia if they had made the cut.
