This month, TCDC’s Visual Project presents the screening of three classic films from veteran American director, actor and producer Woody Allen. The films, shot in three different cities, span the renowned auteur’s four-decade career. Annie Hall (1977). This romantic comedy follows the up-and-down relationship between neurotic Manhattan comedian Alvy Singer (Allen) and nightclub singer Annie Hall (Diane Keaton); Manhattan (1979): Isaac Davis (Allen) has a job he hates, a girlfriend he doesn’t love and an ex-wife who keeps writing about their failed marriage, but then he falls for the smart, sexy and intellectual Mary (Diane Keaton). Midnight in Paris (2011): screenwriter Gil Pender (Owen Wilson) travels to Paris with his fiancée seeking inspiration, only to realize the vast differences between them.
