Watch two of Singapore's top films of 2013 for free this week
Film festival season is in full swing, with the latest set to screen two of Singapore's premier films for free over three days.
Running for three days from Mar 7-9 at SFX Cienema Emporium, the Singapore Film Festival will show two films, ILILO and That Girl in Pinafore. With English and Thai subtitles. Screenings are free, with tickets available at the counter 30 minutes prior to showtime.
The schedule is as follows:
ILO ILO (2013) (Mar 8-9, 7pm)
Winning numerous prizes at the Cannes Film Festival and at the Golden Horse Awards, Anthony Chen’s debut feature-length film follows 12-year-old Jiale (Koh Jia Ler) to examine domestic life in the ‘90s during the economic crisis.
That Girl in Pinafore (2013) (Mar 8, 2pm Mar 9, 7pm)
This comedy musical by Chai Yee Wei follows free-soul lazy schoolboy Jiaming whose O level exams saw him drop out of school to experience a new chapter of life.
