The Goethe Institute hosts its first German Film Week. Held daily at 7pm at the Paragon Cineplex (5/F, Siam Paragon, Rama 1 Rd., 0-2129-4635-6) it will screen seven selected films from Feb 20-26. The program includes; Almanya-Willkommen in Deutschland (2011): The story of the three generations of a Turkish family living and working in German; Krabat (2008): A14-year-old orphan becomes a sorcerer’s apprentice; Im Winter ein Jahr (2008): A family drama about a mother who hires a painter to draw her dead son’s portrait; So glücklich war ich noch nie (2009): The life of successful stock trader, Frank, is turned upside down when he is mistakenly sent to prison; Lila Lila (2010): In order to impress his love, waiter David steals an unpublished manuscript and claims it as his own. When the book becomes a best-seller, the real author appears to reclaim his fame; Die Fremde (2010): German-born Umay flees her failed marriage in Istanbul to find a better life in Berlin.
