The Pridi Banomyong Institute (65/1, Sukhumvit Soi 55, Bangkok, 087-787-7155. BTS Thong Lo) together with the Jayavana Institute is hosting a special international film screening on Dec 8-9 from noon onwards. Six specially selected films will be screened on a big video projector in the institute’s Glass Room:

DEC 8:
50/50 (2011, noon):
Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Adam, a 27-year-old guy struggling to overcome cancer.
Lars and The Real Girl (2008, 2pm): A socially inept young man, Lars (Ryan Gosling), develops an intimate relationship with a life-like sex doll he purchased on the internet.   
The Skin I Live In (2011, 4pm): Pedro Almodóvar’s thriller follows a plastic surgeon (Antonio Banderas) who invents a skin that can withstand anything, using as a guinea pig a girl linked to tragic events in his past.

DEC 9:
Chronicle (2012, noon):
Three high school friends discover superpowers that send their lives spiraling out of control.
Safe House (2012, 1:40pm): A rookie CIA officer (Ryan Reynolds) is tasked with looking after a rogue agent (Denzel Washington) when their safe house in Cape Town comes under attack.
The Terminal (2004, 3:50pm): An eastern European traveler (Tom Hanks) is forced to take temporary residence at the international transit lounge at JFK Airport.
