Anime fans, head over to Little India next week for a six-day anime film festival
Includes the highly anticipated Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale.
Besides the annual Anime Festival Asia (AFA) where cosplayers and anime enthusiasts rendezvous to embrace all things anime and Japanese pop culture, it seems like dedicated events for anime fans are few and far between. But fret not; hopping on the film festivals trend this month is Golden Village's Anime Film Festival, which will take place on Feb 20-26 at City Square Mall. Among the six films being screened is the highly anticipated Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale, a film about the strange encounters this group of friends face over an augmented reality game.
The line-up will see six films—four brand new ones and two classic series—which includes the film version of the immensely popular One Piece anime series, One Piece Film Gold, a fantasy adventure about a group of pirates taking on Gran Tesoro, a large entertainment city-ship; and Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen, the third and final part of the youth horror film series depicting the main protagonist Koyomi, who successfuly retrieves the vampire Kiss Shot's limbs and returning them to her.
Other highlights include booths selling anime merchandise, game booths where you can learn about Yugioh trading cards and PlayStation 4 booths where you can play Sword Art Online on the console and even a cosplay photo competition (there's a bunch of rules and guidelines to follow if you want to try your hand at winning that $500 cash and goodie bag).
Tickets are $13 (Mon to Thurs) and $15 (Fri to Sun), and comes with movie merchandise. More info here.
