Held at SF World Cinema (7/F, CentralWorld, 9/999, Ratchadamri Rd., 02-268-8888), the program will screen six award-winning films and documentaries that tell the lesser known stories of refugees and stateless people. Screenings in original language with Thai subtitles. Here are the highlights:
 
Reel Time: Banished Kids (Jun 19, 7pm)
The film exposes the dilemma of Filipino children whose ancestors migrated to Malaysia from Mindanao but who are denied their rights in a place they call home.

Life in a Foreign Land: Burmese in Japan (Jun 20, 6pm; Jun 24, 7pm)
The documentary follows a Burmese refugee who fled the military junta to lead a peaceful life in Japan, where he runs a restaurant, yet continues to participate in the democratic reform of his homeland. 

Europe Trap (Jun 20, 8pm; Jun 23, 7pm) 
After residing illegally in Iran for 15 years, Afghan mother Zakereh and her son arrive in Greece, only to be separated at the Athens airport. The mother is then transported to Spain where she lives a secluded life, maintaining hope that she will one day reunite with her son.

Monsieur Lazhar (Jun 21-22, 3pm)
After the suicide of a primary school teacher in Montreal leaves students in shock, Bachir Lazhar, a man from Algeria, fills the position, while his own reasons for leaving his motherland remain a mystery.
