Athletes can now register for "online running" competition, the Nike+ MashDash Challenge to win a trip to San Francisco.

Nike Southeast Asia has created an app-driven runners mash-up challenge called the Nike+ MadDash, an initiative which pits random runners against each other to compete in distance running through an online application.

Runners log data into their respective Nike accounts, and at the end of each week, prizes are distributed to those who show the most improvement, and also to those who have covered the most distance. The pair that has clocked the most distance by the end of the competition will win an all-expenses paid trip to San Francisco’s Nike Women’s Marathon.

Registration for the Mash-up Challenge is now available for participants in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines through Facebook or the Nike Running website.
