Absolute You expands its workout studio with "rhythm cycling."

The range of Bangkok fitness studios keeps expanding. One of the latest is Absolute Cycle, an extension of the popular yoga and Pilates brand Absolute You.

Based on the concept of SoulCycle in the States (where Chloe Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham apparently met), Absolute Cycle sees class members cycling to the rhythm of an up-to-date Top-40 playlist rather than spinning their asses off to reach the highest RPM.

Each class fits around 29 students, all of whom get a pair of special trainers to lock their heels into the peddle to avoid possible injuries.

Anyone can sign up for the "Cycle to the Beat" series, which is divided into Absolute 101, Absolute Beats and Absolute Big Beats to suit your abilities. Although still in its early months, the classes are already packed.

Over a 45-minute workout, Absolute Cycle reckons you can burn between 500-800 calories. The first-timer package is B6,500 for 10 classes, valid for a month. Note that it's only available at The Commons for now, but Absolute plans to offer the cycling classes at other Absolute studios throughout the year.
