St John's Island will transform into a playground for a two-day party at the end of May
The closest to an "overseas" weekend getaway
A two-day island party at St John's Island doesn't come by everyday. From May 27-28, the people behind the After Dark party series are collaborating with local party group BLACKOUT to host Blackout x After Dark presents: Island Escape.
The music line-up is pretty solid, with lots of familiar names like Brendon P, Fat Fish Familia, DJ KFC, Maurice Simon, Oliver Osborne and Zig Zach. Regional acts are also on the list, with Sunju Hargun from Bangkok and Jakarta-based Jonathan Kusuma.
Camp Kilo Charcoal Club and Selva Foods will be on duty to fill your tummies with BBQ delights and acai bowls, while Singapore's only conscious festival Green Is The New Black Asia will be organizing free workshops about sustainable living. You'll also get to see an exclusive exhibition by local photography collective Colossal Photos, the guys who are responsible for documenting events like ZoukOut and Ultra Singapore. They'll be making use of a cashless system, so make sure you have the WAAVE mobile app ready to go before heading over.
There'll be ferries at Marina South Pier that'll take you to and from the event. But if you want to stay over on the island, arrangements fro lodging are currently in the works. Tickets are $55 a pop, and you can get them here. We'd recommend to grab them soon because they're selling really fast.
