You don't want to miss this rooftop carnival in May
There's craft beer, Asian tapas, lots of local bands and of course, it's happening on our island's hippest open-air carpark.
The folks behind Getai Electronica and Lepark sessions are at it again. This time, they're hosting Come Lepark With Us, a two-day carnival at none other than the open-air carpark area of People's Park Complex, to celebrate the (soft) opening of rooftop restaurant and bar, Lepark.
Although the restaurant and bar is slated to open in June, you'll get a sneak peek of the space come May 9-10. But the main highlight is Getai Ethnica—part two of Getai Electronica that created quite a buzz earlier this year.
Happening on May 9, there will be performances by local bands like Qilin Group, Cashew Chemists, Vanessa Fernandez and Hubba Bubba, as well as an outdoor film screening of Cantonese film (with English subtitles) The Story of Kong Ngee Ann Wife and live art installations and graffiti by the Band of Doodlers. It's $10 for a ticket at the door and comes with one beer. More nibbles and drinks are available at the venue in the form of Asian tapas, sliders and craft beers so bring some cash and a picnic mat.
Other activitites that you can sign up for include yoga and parkour classes on May 10 (from $30). More details here. There are also free events like a pets adoption drive, a charity car wash and an acoustic folk music session.
