The 69th annual NMV Lecture Series 2014: Slices of Siam 

The annual lecture series covers Thailand's social, cultural and religious development from the period of Ban Chiang to Rattanakosin. Starting this Thursday, there will be two talks every week this month starting at 9:30am and 11am. All talks in English. B200 per day for National Museum Volunteers.

A Day Bike Fest 2014

Bangkok's biggest annual bike festival returns aiming to collect data that will help shape Bangkok as a bike-friendly city. Opening this Friday at 7pm is another exciting solo painting exhibition by Thaweesak Sritongdee, illustrating love, sexual desires, death and the complexities of human life, takes its name from a variation of somtam that's mixed with other, more diverse ingredients.

This series of experimental sound projects by the exhibition department in collaboration with So::On Dry Flower aims to bring new listening experiences to audiences through the works of sound artists from all over the world. Your First Friday returns this month with a joint exhibition of artworks by local and international artists, with pieces of art going on sale. 20 percent of the proceeds will go directly to NGO In Search of Sanuk's current project to feed less fortunate kids and their families this Thanksgiving. The Space Bangkok will hold a special screening of the local music documentary Y/Our Music, co-directed by Art Every and David Reeve. Following the lives of nine non-mainstream Thai musicians, the film uses the country’s various styles of music as a metaphor for the divide between Thailand’s urban and rural lifestyles. With so many events taking place around Rattanakosin Island lately, including Noise Market 3, there's no reason why you wouldn't stop by The Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall to see its latest exhibition, opening at 4pm  with a dance performace by children from the nearby community and a performance by Valley Runner. Meaning "city under the soil," it presents childhood dreams of a alternate universes and ideal worlds.

Toot Yung Art Centre is looking to get a rise out of Bangkok gallery-goers with its erotic new exhibition, Gang Bang, opening this Saturday (from 7pm). Concert in the Park

You know its winter when the crowds are filing into Lumpini Park for the annual free Concert in the Park series. Bring a picnic, maybe even pack a sweater, and enjoy the sounds of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra at Sala Bhirom Bhakdi every Sunday from Nov 9 till the end of the month. From 5:30pm.
