NIGHTLIFE: Gravity Arcadia

GIGS: The 80s Trash Bash

An '80s themed party where local bands including Main Room, Stylish Nonsense, Bone Clone, Deadtown Trash and Meat Eats Sounds play throwback rock, punk and electronica music. DJs 12 Tones, George Lg and Richie also spin house and techno. Dress code is '80s.

ART: Bukruk Urban Arts Festival

The 10-day celebration of underground art returns to take over Bangkok with public wall paintings, art exhibitions, artist talks and animation film screenings from emerging and established artists from Asia and Europe. This year promises a focus on bizzare, uncanny and surreal art that will spread over Chinatown and the riverside, plus various art spaces around the country. There’s a pretty awesome music festival to kick everything off on Jan 23, too, featuring El Guincho (Spain), Alek Et Les Japonaises (Belgium) and Dye (France, La Fine Equipe (France) alongside a long list of top local acts. WHY NOT: Learn How to Indigo Dye

A workshop all about natural indigo dye, an organic blue dye that is extracted from plants, detailing the history of indigo dye, its various uses and special tips and tricks about dyeing techniques. Participants will then learn how to dye their own scarves and tote bags to take home.
