BK Weekend: What's on in Bangkok this Feb 12-15
Markets and intimate indie gigs are the main attractions this weekend.
Bridge cafe and art space's first spoken word event featuring West Woodworth, Camille Lacadee and Chris Clarke. There will also be also open mic poetry and prose with limited time slots available, with free drinks for writers/readers. A good chance to see the art space's current exhibition, Threshold Part 2.

A group exhibition at the indie art space Cho Why by 11 Thai photographers, capturing everyday moments on the streets of Bangkok with the aim of promoting street photography.

The grand opening of Charcoal, with signature craft cocktails by Joseph Boroski, signature kebabs as well as modern instrumental music performance by Xunny Dey and live percussion by Davider Paddem. The event is open to public from 8:30pm onwards.

The Bangkok Symphony changes things up for a night of "Music-Passion-Rhythm," in collaboration with local artists Ratklao Amaradit, New-Jew, Etc., Two Popetorn and Lydia. Expect surprises from the Playboy bunnies. Free-flow Champagne for VIP guests (B4,500). Doors open an hour before the show starts.

Organized by Club Soma, the British rock star will stage an acoustic gig at Moose this Thursday from 8pm-midnight. All tickets are sold out, but we're hearing there may be big screens set up outside, too.

Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center hosts this art, fashion and design exhibition only for the weekend, featuring the work of Thibaut Camdessus and Patcha Utiswannakul, inspired by Lanna culture. Official opening celebration is this Friday at 2:30pm.

The 1st solo art exhibition by Sakon Maytacome inside Hof Eat & Art Cafe inside the BACC. The opening party starts from 6pm, with lots of art giveaways as well as items for sale.

After a postponement, Liam Morgan's interesting installation works will be on show for three days this weekend in an empty space on Silom Soi 8.

Sway is turning unlucky Friday into a good day, with a beer buffet from 6pm-9pm (B500 for domestic, B1,000 for Belgian), a wine buffet from 6pm-9pm (B500 red and white house wines) and tequila shots at B80 all night long. There will also be DJs.

Not in the mood for cheesy love music, over-priced bouquets and fancy restaurants? Noise Market 4 may be your anti-Valentine’s remedy. The music-centric fest takes over Museum Siam again this weekend, bringing a much bigger lineup than the last. Expect more vendors selling cute arts and crafts, indie music and book stalls, and outdoor screenings to go with all the live performances. You won’t go hungry, either, as they’re promising more foodie stalls, too.

Happening mag hosts an alternative night of moody music for Valentine's Day, with local groups Portrait, Yellow Fang, Stoondio, Zweedz N' Roll (check out their video above), Moving & Cut and Superbaker.
