The late, great Mamafaka to be honored as Be@rbrick world tour comes to Bangkok
The exhibition will show off the works of 80 artists from all over the world, as well as reveal another Thai icon.
Siam Center is teaming up with Japanese toy manufacturer Medicom Toy Incorporated to host the Be@rbrick World Wide Tour II, an exhibition of limited edition versions of the much-loved bear figurine by 80 leading artists from around the world.
Names involved include Hong Kong designer Edison Chen, Swedish graffiti artist Andre Saraiva, British illustrator James Jarvis and Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa.
The highlights, though, will be the unveiling of a special 2.1-meter-high Muay-Thai edition of Be@rbrick, as well as another figurine in tribute to the late Thai graphic designer and street artist Pharuephon Mukdasanit aka Mamafaka who passed away in 2013. There's no official word yet when or if the figurine will eventually be available for purchase.
The exhibition will go on display from Jul 6-31, at Idea Avenue, 1/F, Siam Center, Rama 1 Rd. BTS Siam
