Indie-synth fans, your first weekend of October has been sorted by Live Loop Asia, who are bringing together some of the best repetitive electronica acts from around Asia - Yui Cello, Randloh Arriola, Stylish Nonsense - for the two-day Y2K14/Live Loop Asia Festival.

Veteran rock band Apartment Khunpa, fronted by singer and poet Tul Waitoonkiat, celebrates 13 years in rock n’ roll with this one-round-only concert, playing early tracks like "Gumpang" and "Isara Kwam Mao" through to newer ones like "Mai Ru Jak Chan Mai Ru Jak Ter."

Showing at The Jam Factory, the latest exhibition by Ratchaburi's celebrated ceramicist, Wasinburee Supanichworapat, features both black and white photography and contemporary handicraft installations.

The ongoing 16th International Festival of Dance and Music gets into full swing this week, as Timothy John Rushton MBE, leader of the Copenhagen-based Danish Dance Theatre, directs Black Diamond--what promises to be one of the best contemporary ballets this city has seen in a long time.

The Noncitizen and Democrazy Studio theater troupes restage this contemporary dance piece by Thanapol Virulhakul, who won last year’s IATC Award for Best Director, which sees seasoned stage actors and actresses Pradit Prasattong, Duangjai Hirunsri and Farida Jiraphan join together for a pop-themed dance satire. Canadian DJ and trap poster boy Grandtheft, popular for his heavy dance remixes and official hit reworks, plays in Bangkok as part of his official Asian tour.
Following the trend for flea markets and pop-ups, Panda Republic selects over 100 interesting online shops from Instagram and Facebook for this weekend fashion event. Both indoors and outdoors, the market will be decorated with 1,000 balloons. Happening at the same time as the Bangkok Farmers' Market at Gateway Ekamai.

Controversial artist Teerawat Mulwilai's new solo movement-based performance for B-Floor Theatre involves mime, video and art installations. The show is divided the show into two phases: Red Tank (B450 for advanced reservations, B400 for students.) and Iceberg (B300 for students). Showing as part of the Bangkok Theatre Festival, which officially starts on Nov 1.

Bangkok is becoming a healthier city every day. This October sees multiple mini marathons organised across the city. This one, organized by Empire Tower, starts and finishes at EM Space (Empire Tower Sathorn), routing around Sathorn, Wireless Road and Taksin Bridge. Three distance options: 21km half marathon, 10.5km mini maraton and 4.1km fun run. Tickets at www.empiretower.co.th. All runners will get a t-shirt and a goodie bag.

The parking lot of Prach Preaw Studio goes all psychedlic rock with instruments ranging from the Indian sitar to our own khene. Performances from 4-11pm. There will also stalls selling clothing, books, vinyl, antiques and organic farm produce. First 200 early bird tickets are B400.

Another month, another killer Popscene gig. This time, the prolific organizer is welcoming three exciting Danish electro acts to Sukhumvit Soi 22's Overground Bar, headlined by Kompakt Record's Taragan Pyjarama. Take note: last month's Blue Hawaii gig was packed to the rafters.

The latest edition of the bi-annual fair promises to be its biggest ever with over 1,600 booths from both domestic and overseas traders, bringing a wide range of products, from artificial flowers, decorative items, home textile and fabrics, household products, toys, games and stationary, among many others.
