Singapore Airlines now flies to direct to Canberra
Stick around and you can go over to Wellington, too
If you're thinking of heading to Australia this year, good news—starting Sep 20, Singapore Airlines will fly to Canberra four times a week. The flight time on the Boeng 777-200 is a sweet nine hours, and if you don't mind red-eyes (take-off is at 11pm), you could sleep through most of it and arrive in Canberra in time for lunch.
If Canberra is not exciting enough for you, know that the flight continues onto Wellington in New Zealand, with a total flying time of 16 hours, including transit time in Canberra.
You can start booking now for flights later this year. It's $1,731 round-trip to Canberra, and $2,307 for the Wellington route.
