Edit: We have been informed that the Hamlet is not actually affiliated with Wonderfruit, but rather bills itself as a “Wonderfruit camp” and is independent of the festival. We apologize for the confusion.
Sad about missing Wonderfruit this year? Dry those eyes: you can still get some of those happy, hippy vibes with the return of so-called “Wonderfruit camp”
The Hamlet, an independent bar-camp set-up that appeared at the festival in 2018, at the Asai Chinatown hotel this
Oct 3-4.
The new boutique hotel will be hosting a jam-packed weekend of exciting workshops, wellness events, special dinners, and electro-Isaan music, reuniting with old friends from
Tropic City and teaming up with new friends like Monkey Shoulder Scotch whisky and Err.
The weekend starts with specialty workshops, like a “
coffee sensory exploration” with Lee Ayu of Chiang Mai’s Akha Ama and a
cacao ceremony with Light Room that also incorporates “ecstatic dance” (both B550). Later in the evening, you can hang in the courtyard sipping on cocktails like the Hamlet Collins, the signature cocktail for the event made by Tropic City, featuring Hendrick’s Gin, umeshu, a lychee-Thai tea cordial, and soda.
Stay for dinner at
Jam Jam, where guest chefs Duangporn “Bo” Songvasiva and Dylan Jones from Err will be serving up rustic Thai fare accompanied by creative cocktail pairings from Tropic City (B2,200). That will be followed by live electronic music by Tontrakul, who performs “world-beat nu-jazz Isaan music,” as well as tracks from DJs Funkygangster, Supersonic, and Slowlygreen & Seba.
The hotel is also offering a staycation package for the ultra-low price of B999 per night from Oct 3-4, so you can stay late and wake up the next day to a special Sunday morning brunch crafted by chefs Paolo Vitaletti and Jarrett Wrisley (B999) from 11am-3pm.
You can get the Hamlet Full Experience Package for (B7,300 for two persons), which includes the dinner, two cocktails, access to the live music sets, and two seats for the Sunday roast.
