Vans is celebrating the 30th birthday of its skater-favorite shoe with a two-day party this weekend at the Baan Preduce skatepark in Phra Khanong.

To celebrate the Half Cab sneaker, Vans is throwing a party with two live bands, seven DJs, and a skateboarding competition with a prize of B50,000 on both Friday and Saturday.

The event kicks off at 3pm on Friday. Thrasher’s “Skater of the Century” Steve Caballero will be there to meet fans from 5pm to 6pm, followed by a skating demo from Team Vans starting at 6:30pm. At 8pm, skaters will compete to show off their best trick in a contest judged by Caballero with a prize of B50,000.

Another best trick contest will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday.

Expect food, freebies, drinks and more on both days, as well as a strong lineup of Bangkok artists.

DJs to play both days from 2pm to 9:30pm with 7 DJs include Maft Sai from Zudrangma Records, Eri from Darker Than Wax,  Tob of Bangkok Invaders,  Tul of Apartment Khunpa, the legendary Pichy of Quay Records, Olympic Diggers’ Nanziee, and Maarten Goetheer of Sabai Sabai Radio. 

Closing out the night will be live performances by bands H3F and the Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band. 

Entry is free. Baan Preduce is located just off Rama IV Road in Soi Farm Wattana, a short ride from BTS Phra Khanong.
