This Mar 8-9, Gastronauts Asia will be hosting the second edition of their global forum, Women in Gastronomy, at Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, the event focuses on bringing together leading female chefs from Thailand and abroad, offering guests the opportunity to take part in a full-day conference (Mar 8, B1,900) of speeches, presentations and panel discussions, as well as a special multi-chef Bangkok street food lunch featuring food from the city's notable female chefs and female-owned restaurants.

The powerhouse lineup includes Saki Hoshino of 80/20, Jutamas “Som” Theantae of Karmakamet, Top Chef Thailand judge Pichaya “Pam” Utharantharm, Rungthiwa “Fae” Chummonkhon of The Front Room, Pantong “Aoi” Pratumpak of Err, Naree Boonyakiat of The Never Ending Summer, Rangsima “Nan” Bunyasaranand of Little Beast, Nooror Somany-Steppe of Blue Elephant and Renu Homsombat and Portntip Eumanan of The Banyan Tree.

For the first time, this year will also feature Women in Wine (Mar 8), in which some of Italy’s most prestigious wine producers will offer wine tastings and presentations from wineries such as Bellavista, Frescobaldi, Masciarelli and Planeta. Tickets for Women in Wine cost B1,600 or B3,200 for combined wine-tasting, lunch and conference.

Mar 9 will bring a special six-course, four-hands Gala Dinner (B4,900 or B6,900 with wine-pairing) courtesy of Italian chef Cristina Bowerman of Rome’s Michelin-starred Glass Hostaria and Top Chef Thailand winner Chudaree Debhakam, featuring local ingredients and Italian wine pairings.
