There are more than 100,000 iPad sold in Thailand but still no Apple e-books store for us and not everyone has a family member with an American credit card. Finally, Asia Books has launched its first-ever e-book store. Simply create an account, browse through its collection of 500,000 books and buy them. You can pay with your credit card, through Paypal or at 7-Eleven and download the digital contents directly to your computer, iPad or other tablet readers as a PDF format. Before downloading, do check if the ebook is DRM-encrypted, in which case, you can only download it and read it from a single device. At present, there are only English books available but Thai books, magazines and audio books will be available in the near future. Prices are not cheaper than regular books, though, which we think is a disgrace.
