This May 17, the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand hosts a special panel discussion which aims to discuss allegedly misreported comments from the BMA that started a series of online fake-news accusations and heaps of coverage in Western media regarding Thailand’s street food future. The talk will also touch on what defines “street food” in the BMA’s eyes. The panel includes important members of Bangkok’s foodie scene, including Chawadee Nualkhair (author of Bangkok Glutton), Piyaluck Nakayodhin (publisher of Street Food: 39 Great Places Under 100 Baht), Philip Cornwell-Smith (author of Very Thai: Every Day Popular Culture) and David Thompson (chef/owner of Nahm restaurant and author of Thai Street Food). Lobster Menu at J'aime

This Jun 8-10, chef Jean-Michel Lorain marks the 25th year of his lobster menu from the two-Michelin-starred La Cote Saint Jacques in France by offering it at J’aime. The chef will be visiting his Bangkok restaurant to present the lobster-heavy four- (B2,299) or six-course (B3,399) menus himself, including the likes of quail egg and lobster salpicon in a puff pastry shell, warm lobster claw served in a cold white gazpacho with spring vegetables and watercress salad and Provence-style lobster and pig’s trotter. Wine pairing is also available upon request.
