The new lounge bar in Mahanakhon Cube joins Bangkok's growing list of venues affiliated with Michelin-starred chefs.

Come Saturday, Nov 15, there'll officially be another reason to visit Mahanakhon Cube than Dean & DeLuca's pizza slices. The cocktail bar and restaurant Vogue Lounge is the long-anticipated second project in what, on completion, will be Thailand's tallest building.

Promising more than just expensive drinks, the bar has also brought onboard the former head chef at Hong Kong's two-Michelin-starred Caprice restaurant, Vincent Thierry, to create a menu of very elegant-looking food that stops just short of fine dining. And Thierry is more than just a one-off collaborator from afar: he's actually the full-time corporate chef for Pace Development, the company behind Mahanakhon.

The ice-cool, brass-and-white-marble interior with its Deco-style, silhouetted artwork is, they say, inspired by the work of David Collins Studio. We particularly like the elegantly arched bar stools and stone mosaic floor.

And yes, the name Vogue Lounge is officially licensed by Condé Nast International Restaurants (although it's not affiliated with the Thai edition of Vogue magazine).
