Thonglor’s plant-based institution, Broccoli Revolution, has teamed up with a lineup of local community businesses, making it the place to hang for all things vegan, from drinks to dessert.

During the height of the pandemic, the team behind Broccoli Revolution—the double-decker bistro known for its diverse menu of meat-free Mediterranean, Western, and Southeast Asian dishes—said that they wanted to work on supporting local small businesses and turn their restaurant into more of a community setting, with added kiosks offering specialty vegan treats from other vendors. Enter the new layout.

Inside the venue, you’ll now find counters from Hebe, an ice cream maker that uses 100-percent plant based ingredients without additives or trans fat, and Kad Kakao, which offers one-of-a-kind vegan chocolate treats and drinks. Walk upstairs to the mezzanine, and you can pick from a selection of interesting, yet approachable, vegan wines hand-picked by Nick Hargun of Naturalista.

The restaurant itself has a bunch of new dishes and all-time favorites to chow down on, too. The menu is built on ingredients picked from local organic, sustainably managed, and/or pesticide-free farms, which not only helps farming communities, but also benefits your health.

Go for the quesadilla (B180), a grilled whole-wheat tortilla filled with sweet potato, red beans, and vegan queso cheese, served with guacamole salsa and tzatziki sauce, or the hot fried cauliflower (B135), served tempura-style with soy mayonnaise sauce for dipping. Don’t leave without trying to spicy, tangy, peanut-free laab tofu (B150) or Kad Kakao’s play on a Snickers bar (B130), made with vegan Mae Hong Son tiger peanuts, Chumphon chocolate, coconut crumble, and a gold dusting.

Hebe’s ice cream options include flavors like Heavenly Sea Salt (B95), a luscious mix of caramel swirls, almond praline, and sea salt, and Pistachio Paradise (B95), made with home-roasted Italian pistachios.

As for wines, the Vinas Serranas Ciclón Rufete Calabres, a juicy Spanish red, stands out (B300 glass/B1,670 bottle). The full-bodied Bobinet Ruben 2018 (B1,790/bottle) from France, meanwhile, is a nice cabernet Franc with hints of black currant and strawberries.
