Well, that was quick.

Hong Kong dim sum specialist Tim Ho Wan, widely dubbed the world's cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant, is to open a second Bangkok branch.

Since opening at Terminal 21 in August, the restaurant has proven to be the hottest dining ticket in town, despite some frankly mixed reviews. Now it's set to open at a another low-traffic mall, Gateway Ekamai.

According to new signage spotted at the mall (see the very grainy image above), the restaurant should be open by this November.

Those so far unwilling to brave the chain's famous no-reservations policy should be pleased at the prospect of queues cut in half for star dishes like the oozing barbecue pork (B120), soft pan-fried radish cake (B100), fluffy steamed egg cake (B80) and vermicelli roll with pig's liver (B120).

In addition, an insider says the restaurant also plans to open another outlet on Ratchada in the near future.
