A few weeks back we wrote a guide to Bangkok's upcoming food festival season, a long list of food-related events set to take place through till the year-end. However, with the tragic passing of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Oct 13, most of these events have either been canceled or postponed, but there are exceptions.

Events put on hold include Oct 31's breast cancer fundraiser Eat Drink Pink (postponed until further notice), Nov 6's sustainability showcase Big Food at Cho Why/Soi Nana (canceled), Nov 4-6's Michelin-star chef gathering Bangkok Gourmet Festival (canceled) and Nov 5's block party La Fiesta Monita (canceled).

Still going ahead as planned is Nov 10's The Grand Gelinaz Shuffle, in which some of the world's best chefs will leave their home kitchens to come cook at Bangkok's Gaggan, Bo.lan or Nahm restaurants. Tickets are on sale now at 160-180 Euro (about B6,200-7,000) per person.

Also set to take place in slightly muted fashion on Nov 11-18 is So Sofitel hotel's So Amazing Chefs, which gathers 16 pedigreed chefs from around the world for collaborative dinners priced B3,000-12,900. See more at bit.ly/2d63rRE.

Slmilarly, Savelberg's Dining with the Stars event, which sees Chef Henk Savelberg gather his chef friends from Michelin-starred restaurants in the Netherlands, will take place as planned at Oriental Residence (Wireless Rd., 02-252-8001) on Oct 25. Dinner is priced at B9,900 with wine pairing.
