Baa Ga Din

The bar: Aiming to redefine Thai street food, Baa Ga Din serves a menu that’s at once familiar but full of surprises. Alongside superb small plates like the golden, partially deboned chicken wings, you’ll find a fully functioning bar whose cocktails add all sorts of Thai ingredients and twists.

The drinks: Served in a mug that resembles a Thai-style woven palm-leaf box, Mekhong Jasmine is a smooth and aromatic mix
of Mekhong, jasmine liqueur, rice water syrup and honey, garnished with jasmine flowers. We also recommend the Mekhong Thai Sabai, a fun take on the mojito, which uses Mekhong and Thai sweet basil to spice things up a notch.

Supanniga Eating Room

The bar: Located right in the heart of Thonglor’s nightlife strip, this petite three-story shop-house serves up some of the best Thai food in town in a cozy setting of earthy tones and vibrant splashes of yellow. Their cocktails also compete with the best in the neighborhood.

The drinks: Samui Sangria is a refreshing mix of Mekhong, cinnamon syrup, orange juice and red wine finished with a squeeze of lime. For something fizzy to go with your Thai dish, try Siam Sparkling—lychee floating in a glass of Mekhong and sparkling wine. Another authentic pick-me-up is Mekhong Thai Sabai, which mixes the namesake spirit with fresh lime juice, sugar syrup, Thai sweet basil leaves and a splash of soda.

The bar: Patara offers artfully presented Thai dishes using quality ingredients, all inside an exquisite mansion just off Thonglor. And the drinks are no after-thought!

The drinks: P-19 is a shot combining three different spirits: Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream and Mekhong, the spirit of Thailand. The sweetness of the Kahlua and Baileys complement the strong yet smooth profile of the Mekhong, making for one powerful drink. Patara also serves another six Mekhong-based cocktails, from Thai Mojito to the wonderfully named Thonglor Punch.

Osito Unique Spanish

The bar: Sukhumvit’s trustiest Spanish kitchen may be best known for its paella and line of tasty sandwiches, but the bar gets even more creative with cocktails bearing lots of Thai touches.

The drinks: The ‘O’ Whiskey Sour is a fun twist on the classic, comprising Mekhong, lime juice, butter caramel flavored syrup and egg white. Another standout is the Red Sangria, a tall glass made with red wine and Mekhong that’s swimming with plenty of fresh fruit. Prefer sparkling? Order the White Sangria.
