Don’t let the scaffolding fool you.

Bangkok is never short of brunch spots, but the true gems are still a bit of a dig. Halfway is a meeting point between Asian-Aussie fusion cuisine and cool drinks.

Led by the team behind modern European brunch spot Pepe and the specialists from Unfinished Coffee Roaster, we’ve got an airy and casual brunch spot hidden behind a bright orange scaffolding—it’s all part of the charm.

Starting with the most familiar flavors for early birds, Halfway presents us with a bowl of dry-aged duck Congee (B300). The bitesize sliced duck is dry aged and boiled with the rice, so you still get a faint whiff of meat with some pepper and pickled veggies to offset the richness. The dish also includes a creamy egg yolk for you to dip with their patongko.

For those who are on a health kick, their Veggie Mary (B320) might satisfy your sweet tooth while keeping things fresh and filling. The sliced strawberries, orange, and a juicy raspberry sauce alleviates the heavier components like the walnut and avocado, making it a customer favorite.

If you want something a little heartier, their breakfast plates should do the trick. The fiery scrambled egg and sourdough (B420) is served with bacon, sausage, and a mild guacamole that’s not too refined—so there’s still something to chew on. The scrambled egg itself is filled with pepper, corn, and mushroom, and we recommend stacking all the ingredients on the sourdough and taking a big bite for the full experience.

Brunch isn’t complete without a cup of joe. Shipping the recipe straight from Unfinished Coffee Roaster, the salted caramel crunchy (B160) has been upgraded so you get an extra whiff of butter while taking a sip. The coffee hits the spot with a bittersweet flavor topped with fluffy cream and cookie crust.

Non caffeine drinkers can enjoy their s’more chocolate (B180) or the midday medley (B200) a smoothie packed with banana, strawberry, mixed berries, oat milk, and coconut whipped cream.

If you’re trying to stretch your imagination beyond the typical brunch line up or hunting for an out-of-office working spot, ring your friends and meet each other Halfway.
