On Nut isn’t the first place you think of when you hear “rooftop restaurant.” But that’s changing. Sitting on the 33rd and 34th floors of the Innside Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit by Melia, Luz Tapas Bar is the brainchild of Chef de Cuisine Laia Ferrer, bringing her Barcelona heritage to life through Thai ingredients and Spanish flavors.

The venue, which opened mid-September, offers two spacious areas: the Luz terrace and the Luz rooftop. Both spaces are sleek and modern, and as you step out of the elevator, you’re greeted by floor-to-ceiling glass windows with cityscape views and an opulent Spanish-style bar where chefs and bartenders work side by side.

As the sun sets, the glowing bar on the upper floor becomes an extension of the 33rd floor, allowing tapas bar guests to loom over the hotel’s infinity pool. The design features striking angled lines and cabling, paying homage to the iconic Rama VIII Bridge.

When it comes to the food, the bar has a selection ranging from street food classics to Chef Ferrer’s signature dishes. Highlights include the suquet de peix amb romesco (B850), a daily catch stew with flavourful romesco sauce, the fideus a la cassola (B950), featuring slow-cooked pork ribs in a noodle stew served in a paella pan, and the tiradito basque (B490), which showcases the catch of the day with Basque seasoning that contains spices like smoky paprika and sun-dried tomato powder. For dessert, indulge in burnt Basque cheesecake, churros, or the xuxo, which is a sugar-coated cylindrical pastry filled with Catalan cream dusted in powdered sugar.

To complement the tapas, have a look through their selection of Spanish wines, draft beers, and signature cocktails. For oaky and sweet notes, sip on the Innsiders (B360), crafted with Old Pulteney Scotch Whiskey, cinnamon, lime, cranberry juice, honey, and egg white. Feel like something tropical and experimental? Try the Phraya (B360), which features Phraya gold rum, cherry brandy, green apple syrup, pineapple juice, fresh milk, and coconut cream. And don’t miss their refreshing and fruity signature sangrias (B360), including red wine, Cointreau, pineapple, orange, and cinnamon.

Crowds come for date night dinner or a knock-off cocktail—but just make sure you’re there for sunset.
