Those pining for the days of yesteryear, when Soi 11 was associated more with cheap street food than rowdy tourist bars, may find some solace in Market Rooftop.

Slated to open in early 2019, this new venture promises an unlikely marriage of rooftop venue and “cheap eats” at its “Urban Sanctuary,” where Thai and international street food, music, street art and drinks will combine—though we’re yet to find out what constitutes “cheap.”

The exact location is yet to be revealed, but it is said to be a 385-sq-meter terrace roof, which will accommodate 152 seats, a full bar, enclosed permanent "pop-up-style" food vendors and a DJ booth, all within three minutes' walk of BTS Nana. Teaser photos show a leafy open air space, strewn with colorful metal chairs and vibrant street art.

The venue will be open between 5pm-midnight, featuring casual eats in small portion sizes in order to encourage customers to sample various dishes. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more details.
