Special menus, an al fresco balcony and damn good Neapolitan pizza is a good combination

If you’ve ever actually dined in Naples, Italy,  and missed the experience, Peppina Central Embassy is here to fill that void. Sitting in a prime location in the heart of Bangkok, the restaurant boasts a polished vibe with its  dark woods and marble tables. There’s also an al fresco balcony zone adorned in hardwood and sleek white counters and tables, making for a prime spot for afterwork tipples and bites while indulging in the stunning city view. As for the food, the brand’s in-house pizza chef, Raffaele Micco, is an expert at crafting those authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas —which are considered by many to be the gold standard by which pizzas are judged.

To help bring a little more excitement to Bangkok’s pizza scene, chef Micco has rolled out a rotating series of specialty pizzas—one exclusive pizza per month. This May, it’s a special Cotte e Funghi pizza that combines the traditional Napolitana style with some of the most popular pizza toppings in Thailand,  like mushrooms, ham and Italian basil.

“We like to make everything authentic and traditional, so everything was done by hand, from mixing flour, kneading to baking in the oven, with only the best ingredients from Italy,” said chef Micco. “Every month, I want to change. We want to develop one new specialty pizza for our customers each month. It is more exciting to us and them that way.”

The new Cotte e Funghi follows the traditional style of an Italian prosciutto pizza with not-too-thin bread and balanced flavors of Agerola’s mozzarella cheese, sweet-yet-sour San Marzano tomatoes, Italian basil, along with the aforementioned funghi (mushroom) and cooked ham—displaying a winning combination of chef skill and creativity.
