The star of Japan's Iron Chef and one of America's most celebrated restaurateurs is opening in Bangkok.

Masaharu Morimoto, star of America's Iron Chef TV program and the founder of Philadelphia's celebrated Morimoto restaurant, is coming to Bangkok.

Officially launching this August, Morimoto Bangkok will sit on the fourth floor of MahaNakhon Cube, joining other restaurants L'atelier Joel Robuchon and M Krub in the luxury development.

Morimoto is known for harmonizing Western and Japanese ingredients and is today one of America's best-known chefs. He opened Morimoto in Philadelphia after training in Hiroshima, Japan, and New York's Nobu. Since then, he has gone on to open branches across the country, as well as establishing the offshoot Wasabi by Morimoto in both Mumbai and New Delhi.

Diners in Bangkok can look forward to trying Morimoto signatures like his black cod braised in thick ginger-soy—a dish which the chef claims to have made his career—and chawanmushi (egg custard) served with foie gras and oysters.

It’s safe to say that a full house can be expected upon its opening on Aug 4. Keep an eye on www.fb.com/MorimotoBangkok
